What to Expect on the Henco Stand

Our stand is laid out so that a conversation can start without waiting for a formal presentation. Machines are positioned with clear access on at least two sides, so visitors can look at the cutting head, the guarding and the cleaning access rather than only at the outside of a panel.

The stand team includes sales engineers and technical staff rather than stand staff alone. When a question turns out to be detailed, we prefer to answer it on the spot with the person who knows the machine. If a question needs production data we do not carry, we take the details and follow up in writing after the show.

Machine documentation is available on the stand, including specification sheets, layout drawings and examples of the operating manuals supplied with the equipment. How to Prepare for a Productive Meeting

Exhibitions are more useful when the visitor arrives with a specific requirement rather than a general interest. Fifteen minutes of preparation before you travel usually turns a stand visit into a working technical discussion.

The most valuable things to bring are the product you process, the cut size or portion weight you need, and the hourly output you are targeting. Photographs of your current process are useful too, because a photograph often explains a constraint faster than a description. If you already know your available floor space and your incoming power supply, we can discuss a line layout during the meeting rather than after it.

Bringing sample product is worth the inconvenience. A machine that looks suitable in a catalogue can turn out to be the wrong choice once the actual texture, temperature or stickiness of your product is known. Where a sample cannot be brought to the show, send it to our factory afterwards and we will run a trial before recommending a configuration.

If you want a lengthier discussion, ask for a meeting slot when you register your visit. The stand is busiest in the middle of each day, and reserving a time earlier or later gives both sides more room to work through the details.

Machines and Topics We Can Discuss in Detail

Most of the questions we receive at the show fall into three groups, and we can answer all three on the stand.

Cutting quality and blade selection. Visitors want to know which blade suits their product, how often blades should be replaced and how the machine behaves when product temperature varies. Frozen product needs a different tooth pitch and blade hardness from chilled product, and we can explain the trade-off between cutting speed and blade life.

Capacity and line matching. A machine that is perfectly adequate on its own can become a bottleneck when it is linked to a forming or coating line. We can work through the throughput of each stage and identify where additional capacity is needed before it becomes a production problem.

Materials and cleaning. Food contact parts on our machines are made in grade 304 stainless steel, which contains about 18–20% chromium and 8–10.5% nickel. Where a product is high in salt, or where equipment is washed with aggressive chemicals, we specify grade 316 instead, which adds roughly 2–3% molybdenum and resists chloride attack more effectively. Visitors who handle seafood or heavily salted products should ask about this, because the choice affects service life more than any other single decision.

Exhibitions also bring compliance questions. Under the SOLAS convention, 100% of loaded containers require a verified gross mass declaration before they can be shipped, and buyers often want to understand how equipment is packed, documented and delivered before they place a first order. Within a few working days of the show we send visitors who asked for information the documents we discussed: specification sheets, layout drawings, and a quotation for the configuration that matches their product. Where a visitor's requirement was not fully clear at the show, the follow-up email asks the specific questions needed to complete it rather than sending a generic catalogue.

Where a trial run is the right next step, we arrange it at the factory in Jinan. Customers send product samples, we run the machine on that product and record the result, and the recording is shared before any commitment is made. For customers who cannot travel, the trial is conducted over a live video call so that the result is seen rather than described.

We also keep a note of visitors who are planning a purchase in a later budget cycle. Equipment decisions in this industry are rarely made on the first conversation, and a customer who returns a year later usually finds that we still have the details of what they process and what they needed. For customers who cannot travel to China, we arrange live video sessions during a trial run so that the machine can be watched working in real time. This is common for first orders and for equipment that will be installed by the customer's own engineers. It also gives the buyer a chance to ask questions while the machine is in front of the engineer.

Whichever route suits you, the objective is the same: to see the machine working on your product before you commit to a purchase. Exhibitions are a convenient way to start that conversation, and a factory trial is the way to finish it.

Customers often ask how far ahead they should plan. For a standard machine ordered shortly after a show, the lead time is normally 15 to 30 working days from technical confirmation and deposit. For a customized configuration, or anything involving new moulds or blade sets, allow 30 to 60 working days, because design work and tooling production cannot be compressed without adding risk.
